Breath of fresh air
I find Union Station refreshingly different. The crowd offers a full line of diversity from gay males/drag queens/lesbians/straight. I really enjoy the atmosphere and when you go ask for Autumn as your server...so cute knowledgeable on the menu and offers you a smile that can turn your day around.
Bad service and bad bartenders
Bartenders at the main bar give bad service unless you start tipping them extra (it should be the other way around). Food is advertised as being gourmet, but most of it is just frozen stuff dumped in the deep fryer. They're not good enough to cook a lot of the stuff on the menu.
BEST BAR EVER!!
One of my favorite places to go to in the united states. The food is good and the waiters are very cute. Many sexy guys and great energy, with beautiful, trendy decor.
Terrible STRAIGHT bar with a gay influence
This place was great and now its sold out to the influx of "trendy" straight invaders of the short north. The only time UNION is gay was gay pride week so they could rake in the money. Go to LIQUID down the street, better food, better service, and its not full of straight couples, wankers and overweight college girls hoping to land a confused gay boy. Hmmm intresting since the owners got very rich on the gay community and now have sold out.....
Great for people watching, but poor sevice
While the energy can be great, we have YET to have a decent meal there or even good service. On our last visit we had a cutie-pie waiter with attitude who when asked about recommendations on the menu replied that nothing on the menu was special or even that good. Of course, this was the same waiter who told us they had run out of pizzas for the evening (mind you it was 7:30p) and when we joked with him about all of the pizza orders we saw coming out of the kitchen for the next hour and a half, just rolled his eyes and told us we could talk with his manager if we wanted. Mediocre food at best. It reminds me of some gay other restaurants that think just because they cater to the GLBT crowd they don't have to do anything special in the way of food, drink or service - that would actually be a restaurant! Go for drinks at the bar and then walk to numerous other choices for good food and service!
