So Fun!
This past summer, (2014) was the first time I went to a gay bar in Columbus since 1978. I had a great time, and hope to visit there again soon. Did karaoke, drank a few more Bud Lite Limes than I should have, but enjoyed the friendly faces there, especially one whose name is Bobby. Orlando may be warm temperature-wise, but the people I met at Tremont Lounge were just as warm, if not warmer. Thanks for a great time!
Went uphill for a minute, now downhill fast
Used to be a great bar before Danny (owner) died. New manager gave the place a much needed facelift. But now seems to be ANOTHER drag bar. Ugh!! Avoid.
A Columbus Legend
This isn't your run of the mill gay dance club or martini lounge. It's cheap drinks, friendly service, a jukebox, and a pool table. It's a formula that has worked for years. The owner is a wonderful, pleasant man and the staff always has a smile and a drink ready for you. Highly recommended for a true dive bar experience. Attitudes not welcome but everyone else is!
Unassuming and delightful...
The Tremont is a wonderful place! It is the stereotypical neighborhood bar - no frills, themes, or pretentions. It has the best happy hour in the city. The staff and patrons are friendly and accessible. It is, however, very small and dark, but in most ways only adds to its charm. The only drawback I had was the lack of parking.
