Newer, posh, drastically improved.
Highly recommend the new and improved Union Bar + Food. Always packed and always a stiff drink. $3 Long Island Thursdays are especially fun. Try the chicken satay appetizer (only $5 during Happy Hour) or crab cakes. Also recommended: Diablo Pasta and Club Sandwich.
Aweful
The old Union Station was fun. The food wasn't great, but it was reasonably priced. The new Union is terrible. I've been there about five times since they opened and I have had a miserable time every time. Service is horendous. 10 minutes for a vodka tonic is unacceptable. The food is overpriced and bland. Tastes like bad hotel food. It's really nothing more than a gay Applebys with too many straight people. It's just not fun. As the old adage says: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Union Station wasn't broken and this is the result ... an over-priced, over-crowed, over-decorated hotel bar with bad service and mediocre food.
Not The Same
I loved the old Union, the new one tries too hard to not be a bar. Food is good, but over priced. I have been there 2 times with friends, had fun until it was time to get cocktails. The service is very slow, even though they were not real busy. Loaded with straight people, not really gay anymore.
No Longer A Gay Place
I Loved the old Union Station. The new Union Bar + Food tries too hard to be New York or LA. The place is being taken over by straights. The gay crowd is abandoning this place. Recently a straight customer asked a waiter for a bucket of water to "put out the flamers." This place is not on my list anymore.
