Featured Speaker: Columbus Chief of Police Kim Jacobs
Police Chief Kim Jacobs has been a law enforcement officer sinee 1979. During her career on the police force, Jacobs was an officer, assigned to Patrol units on Zone 3, the west side of the city. She was promoted to Sergeant in 1987, assigned to Patrol and the Patrol Administrative office. She then was promoted to Lieutenant in 1991, assigned to Patrol and as the Patrol Administrative Assistant to the Patrol Deputy Chief. Following that, she was promoted to Commander in 1995 (first time for a woman), assigned to Communications, Internal Affairs, Zone 4, and Training Bureau. Later then she was promoted to Deputy Chief in 2009 (first time for a woman), assigned to Patrol East, Patrol South and Administrative Subdivision. In 2012, Jacobs was then promoted to Police Chief making history as the 1st woman and 1st lesbian to hold the position in Columbus.
Chief Jacobs holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with an emphasis in criminology from The Ohio State University. She has attended and completed numerous law enforcement trainings including the Police Executive Leadership College, the Certified Law Enforcement Executive course, the ICS management series, Leadership/Mastering Performance Management, Internal Affairs: Legal Issues and Proactive Steps for Corruption Prevention from IACP, and U.S. Army War College’s Strategic Leadership Staff Ride. In 2013, she attended the 36th session of the FBI’s National Executive Institute and separately, Counter-Terrorism training in Israel.
The Chief enjoys bicycling, gardening, reading, golfing, and singing in church choir, as well as, spending time with her partner and their two kids.

Founded in 2010, Besa manages volunteer projects and city-wide drives in Columbus, Ohio. Besa's mission is to connect more people to community service. They accomplish this through high impact volunteer projects with partner not-for-profits. Our projects are open to the public. In addition, we manage volunteer engagement for companies, including Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, Kaufman Development and Express. In our first two years of operations, we managed 245 service projects - contributing 7,000 volunteer hours and $202,000 in goods and services back to local charities. #givebesa

Evolution Theatre Company provides a supportive encouraging environment for celebrating the artistic vision of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer,questioning,intersex and ally (LGBTQQIA) individuals, advancing the understanding of gender issues, and fostering the expression of creative performance arts by and about the LGBTQQIA community.
Evolution Theatre Company's Vision
Evolution Theatre Company will present works that the LGBTQQIA community can identify with. Works that celebrate and verify the community, it’s present, past and future. Works that bring dignity to and tolerance and acceptance for the community not only in Columbus but in the country and the world.
They seek to draw audience members into their own experience of theatre one that will be entertaining, educational and rewarding.
Through the works produced, they will challenge the audience to consider different points of view and alternate values to increase social conscious and compassion.
Evolution Theatre Company will produce small scale, actor-centered plays depicting the comedy and tragedy of the human condition. They will educate, enlighten and entertain. This will be accomplished by producing works of artistic and social significance with professional expertise and creative passion, to develop an audience to support such work, to discover and develop local talent, and to establish a professional theatre in Columbus, OH.
Represented in each season will be works by established well-known, lesser known and new emerging playwrights and composers.

Crystal Park is the owner and visionary behind Cray Eatery and Drinkery. A long-time resident of Columbus, Park settled on the Wonder Bread factory in Italian Village for her firest culinary venture. The mene is inspired from Park's travels, and includes gourmet sliders served tapas style and infused lliquors. Cray is open seven days a week, including opening at 11am for brunch on weekends.
