COMMUNITY SPEAKER: BRAVO/GLORIA MCCAULEY
Gloria McCauley is the Executive Director of the Buckeye Region Anti-Violence Organization (BRAVO). For the past 25 years, she has focused her work on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) issues of Hate and Bias crimes, discrimination, sexual assault and Domestic Violence. BRAVO provides crisis intervention and support to survivors of hate crimes, domestic violence and sexual assault, educates the public about hate crimes, and educates LGBT communities about issues of violence both against and within the community. BRAVO also provides survivor support groups and referrals for LGBT survivors and community members.

FEATURED SPEAKER: MAJOR PENNY PERRY, LGBT Liason for the Franklin County Sheriff's Department
Major Penny Perry is a 19-year veteran with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in Columbus, Ohio. She began her career in 1995 as a Deputy in the Corrections Division. In 2003 she was promoted to Corporal, Sergeant – 2005, and promoted to Lieutenant in 2009 which included working in the Patrol Division. In 2012 she was appointed to her current rank serving as Major of Corrections. Her responsibility is overseeing the operations of the correctional facilities. In 2014 she became the LGBT Liaison for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. Major Perry graduated from Northwestern University Center for Public Safety – School of Police Staff and Command in 2011 and National Jail Leadership Academy in 2014.
In addition to her current position, she heads the Green Task Force Team, Facility Improvement Committee, is a member of the American Jail Association, National Sheriff’s Association, and has received several commendations throughout her career.
