Since the first cases of AIDS were reported in 1981, gay men have been in the eye of the HIV hurricane in the United States—and they continue to bear the brunt of the epidemic in North America.
This year mark's the 7th year to observe National Gay Men's HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. In Columbus, an event and fundraiser will be held at Axis Nightclub and groups and entertainers will perform numbers that speak to empowerment, being proud about being gay, or about HIV/AIDS from personal perspectives.
