This place is straight of out the 70s. Dark, dirty, cruisy and never a huge crowd (or so it seems because of the size). At least you won't feel like you need to dress up to enter. Or dress at all.

Tradewinds is a bar that is fun, you can dance, you can see Maria Garrison host strippers, you can see leather you can see whatever you want, but it lacks the overall interaction bar, def a cruise spot if you are looking for that, good drinks nice staff, but busy staff. decor is very dark so it doesn't matter, it one of "those" kind of gay bars but you can have lots of fun if you are that type of person

You can't set your watch by this place. One night leather, the next night twinks. Next week hunks, then the next night trolls. It's a schizophrenic bar for a strange city full of attitudes. But you can still have a dam good time. Highlight: getting a $25 ticket for parking outside. Way to go, Ohio.

One of the firsts gay bars i ever been to. And one of the greatest! Great place, great atmosphere, great people!

I've been going to Tradewinds for a few years now and there is no other bar in Columbus or anywhere else I would rather be. Friendly Staff, Great Music and a Packed Dance Floor every Saturday Night!! Everyone is welcomed, gay, straight, male, female, bear, leather, twink, young or old, everyone meshes and has a great time. You won't be disappointed at Tradewinds II.

The Tradewinds is my favorite club in Columbus. The staff, drinks and patrons. The location is wonderful for the out-of-town visitor. Despite some of the previous reviewers, I would not attempt to generalize the place as a leather bar. It is a good mix of all types of people. The club is huge - three bars, dance floor, even a Torso! If wish the bathrooms and smoking patio were larger though. If you are looking for some smoking hot men who are not shy, Tradewinds is the place for you.

Very down to earth crowd. Saturday night DJ is great and plays fresh and new music. Friday night DJ sucks, plays the same crap over and over again.

This place is for me, lots of space to move around and no attitude.

The T W is one of the Oldest Gay Bars in town. I've been going to it ever since it opened,(over 20 yrs). Unlike most who have comments about it being a "Leather/Bear Bar!" I'm not either one of these. I'm just me. Some Bars are want'a be's and to Lable the T W a "Leather/Bear Bar!" is some what of a "?". It is what ever you make, some would add "Cowboy/Levi Bar" to the Lable also. All 'n all, it is always a "GREAT PLACE!" to be and "PAR'TA".

This is THE place to be on Sunday and Thursday nights for their strip shows hosted by Maria Garrison! Absolutely fantastic!

Without beating around the bush, Tradewinds is the leather/biker/bear club. The clientele are older and leatherclad. If you're youngish and twinkish you go to Tradewinds to feel REALLY pretty. If you're older and, er, bearish, you go to Tradewinds to blend in. The music and dancing are usually really great...and the porn that they show on the video screens appeals to any voyeur. It's a big rambling bar with lots of places to hide. Cheap cover and cumbersome parking - small drinks. But fun!

$1 domestic beer brings the happy hour crowd. I liked it here. The staff is great (say hi to Jason!) and although it was fairly quiet on my visit late on a Wednesday I can imagine the place with a good crowd.

Tradewinds is a large older male gay bar. The crowd is mostly older bears, fetish and truck driver types. I LOVE THIS PLACE!
