Not bad...
Great, friendly staff, good Cosmo, very friendly dancers, fun drag show on Sunday with gogo boys. Good relaxed evening :-)
Illusions
Up until recently, I considered Columbus to be a fairly decent city. It's in the middle of Ohio so for what it's worth, it's not a bad place to be. The Short North is an equally decent place to be when in Columbus. Nice little galleries and shops up and down the streets. And then you have the bars. There are a few in particular that are the heartland of the gays, lesbians and anything in between. And I'm embarrassed to say these used to be some of my favorite places. Once you peel off the booze goggles and take a shower, you'll come to realize what a sleaze pit the Short North can be. The people are snobby, apparently believing they live in L.A. or New York. They need to wake up and remember the old quote "Never forget where you came from." Many of them were born and raised in Ohio. Which is conveniently located in the middle of nowhere. This isn't the O.C. and this isn't the Big Apple. People need to remember their manners or they will quickly find themselves in an unpleasant situation with people who are in touch with reality. Secondly, the bars have a reputation for 'accidentally' charging people for things they didn't buy. Excuse me? You somehow charged me $29.99 exactly...on accident? I don't think so. I'm 22, not stupid. Whatever the cause - management, bartenders, faulty computers - it needs to be fixed. One day, the bar will end up charging the wrong person and find themselves in a very unfortunate situation. In short, Columbus and it's gay community need to wake up, grow up, and get their stuff together.
good times but used to be better
what the hell ? i move back to Columbus and go out and everything is so damm different. but i will a say if there is a place to see or be seen it would be here. i read the reviews and agree except for the queens. you just can't touch entertainment from the era of Blossom and Mary Ann Brandt days. NOT EVEN CLOSE! Anyone know where they are performing now? msg me plz.
